The Football Foundation for Africa (FFA) has announced the appointment of Beryly Logos Lubala, professional footballer at Stevenage F.C. and founder of BL Ballers and BL Ballers Foundation, as an FFA Ambassador.
Beryly Lubala’s ambassadorship reflects a shared commitment to strengthening African football ecosystems and highlighting the role of the African football diaspora in supporting development, education, and employment opportunity creation across the continent.
FFA is a pan-African organisation that works across grassroots football, policy, and investment, using the Football as Infrastructure (FaI) model to unlock wider social and economic outcomes. Through platforms such as the Africa Football Development Network (AFDN) and the Africa Football Business Summit, FFA connects grassroots actors with policymakers, investors, and partners to build stronger, more sustainable football systems.
As an FFA Ambassador, Mr Lubala will support the organisation’s ecosystem-building work through advocacy, visibility, and structured engagement, while continuing his own player-led initiatives through BL Ballers and BL Ballers Foundation. His appointment also signals a broader shift toward diaspora-led participation, moving beyond charity toward long-term systems and pathways.
“I’m pleased to join The Football Foundation for Africa as an Ambassador. As Africans in the global game, I believe we have a responsibility to stay connected to the continent in meaningful ways. This partnership is about supporting long-term pathways—especially around education and employment opportunity creation—and showing what diaspora participation can look like when it’s structured, consistent, and focused on real outcomes,” says Mr Lubala in acknowledging his appointment.

Brian Wesaala, Founder & President of FFA, added, “African football’s future will be shaped not only by what happens on the continent, but also by Africans in the global game who choose to remain connected and committed. Berylly Lubala’s ambassadorship is a powerful example of diaspora participation that goes beyond symbolism, rooted in structured engagement, long-term contribution, and a shared focus on education and employment opportunity creation through football ecosystems.”
This partnership aims to serve as a practical example of how African players and professionals in the global game can contribute meaningfully to opportunity creation on the continent.
